The first Winter Beach Blast was an impressive success. Held Friday, Feb. 22, at Crystal Gardens in Southgate, the event attracted nearly 600 people, all of whom were feted to a one-night winter escape that featured tropical dancers, beach games, a festive outdoor-style dinner, as well as opportunities to participate in silent and live auctions and various raffles for monetary and other prizes.
Rotarians from Trenton were joined by Rotary 6400 District Gov. Jennifer Jones as well as Rotarians from Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Monroe, Southgate and Taylor, as well as PDGs Larry Wright, Jim Ives and Jack Mueller. The Winter Beach Blast organizing committee would like to thanks the event’s sponsors and numerous other supporters for helping to making it an overwhelming success.

Kids take center stage
Posted March 4, 2008
Trenton Rotary held its annual Turn Off The Violence program on Saturday Feb. 23. This fun-filled day of crafts and entertainment provided families with an interactive and enjoyable way to spend a Saturday. Carey Ann The Clown and Jim Carmody brought their unique entertainment shows to Trenton's Westfield Center and provided children and adults alike with their unique shows about life, magic and having fun.
Co-chaired by Trenton Rotarians Randy Schoen and Dave Lahr, the event is one of the great community service activities the club provides for the residents of Trenton. Major funding for the day came from the Colina Foundation, which also helped the Trenton Exchange Club promote Maplegrove Camps as a way to escape a life surrounded by Drugs or Alcohol abuse.
